NGC1365 - Trying my hand at an old favorite...

I've looked at images of 1365 for so long, but always felt I just didn't quite have the right setup to capture it... My last attempt was with an APS-C sensor and a 300mm f/2.8 camera lens, which, while it made for an interesting shot of the Fornax galaxy cluster, you could barely make out NGC1365 in that image.

This time around I thought I'd get a little closer.. I thought the 840mm focal length of the 120mm f/7 would be enough, but as it happens, I feel I could essentially double my focal length and still be a little short!

In any case, I've provided a 50% resolution crop, and a lower resolution full field image...

I'm quite happy with this from my Bortle 5 back yard.
