Aurora at 34 south, October 7, 2024

Last nights aurora event Oct 7, 2024.
Still image sequence from the most active part of the storm, which only lasted about 20 minutes from 22:42 - 23:04 AEDT [11:42-12:04 UT].

Video covers longer period. Time span marked on title sequence.

All exposures: Pentax K1 ISO1600 15s Pentax 50mm f1.7 @ f2.8

Auroral activity before midnight usually sees the beams and pillars migrating from east to west. Morning displays move west to east. But last nights mid evening display can clearly be seen moving west to east more typical of a morning display.
