I know there's a few people here who tinker with old radios. I'm chasing a 5Z4G rectifier valve for an old Tasma cathedral style radio which has the Tasma 7xx Baby chassis (I think, same tube line up). The valve can be 4 or 5 pin, only 4 are connected in circuit but it has a 5 pin base
It's a somewhat rare 1930s radio from what I can find and a friend thinks once I identified and eventually replace the valve it's done and working. I've yet to explain wax paper capacitors and the fact every one of them will need replacement. It's probably going to end up a nightmare and a free job for a friend.
A 5Y3G may be suitable.
The "G" only stands for glass. It's a glass tube but that's not a requirement.

5Z4 and 5Y3 are not equivalent, but they are similar and can often substitute for each other when warm-up time is not an issue. 5Z4 has an indirectly heated cathode; 5Y3 has a directly heated filament.
