A Prawn Closeup (IC 4628)

Seems a lifetime ago but we had some consecutive clear nights around the full moon in May and I was able to collect about 15hrs on the prawn nebula (IC4628). Since my c14 only has 0.5x0.3deg fov I thought I'd frame up the 'tail' and see what detail I could extract. I used the L-Ultimate filter, channel extraction in APP, and post processing in PI.

Not sure I'm fully happy with where this landed, but I think I've squeezed about as much as I could from the data available. I used a modified foraxx pallet, but had to be very careful with the colour as the fine detail in that dusty tail was very easily obliterated. I think if I ever come back to this it'll be with the hyperstar - a much more appropriate focal length for this target.

Thanks for dropping by and here's the link to a higher quality version.
