NGC 5128 Centaurus A Galaxy Re Process

Decided to re process NGC 5128 Centaurus captured back in March this year mainly because I wasn’t happy with the previous image. Even though it was only a single night capture ( about 4 or 5 hours total integration) down at my Dome under Bortle 3 skies , the data set was pretty clean.

NexDome Obs on South Coast
10” f5 Carbon Newt
EQ8-R pro mount
2600MM -10c , Gain 0
Antlia filters
2 min dithered subs
Lum 2hrs
Red 1 hr
Green 1 hr
Blue 1hr
Full calibration suit ( Flats , Dark Flats , Darks )
Stacked in ASTAP
Processed in Startools v1.8

Binned to 65% to improve SNR
Increased ROI in AutoDev stretch
Bumped up Gamma a few notches
Increased Sharpening a few notches
Increased SV Decon to 14 iterations , adjusted de ringing to suit
Changed colour mode to RGB ratio / Luminance retention
Increases De noise to compensate for above changes

In pretty happy with this latest version , a bit more detail, brightness and contrast than the original

Thanks for looking
