I'm not fond of the sex and violence in modern day films, nor of the woke agenda in many titles. What people do behind their own doors is their own business but don't shove it down my throat as every day life for everyone on the planet.
I like humour and love the old Abbott and Costello movies, I'm also fond of the Terrence Hill/Bud Spencer movies. Throw in the Marx Brothers and it's a perfect trio. OH, Ma and Pa Kettle too but they are hard to find.
Speaking of musicians I saw an old movie on SBS world movies the other day, "Bye, Bye Birdie" with Dick Van Dyke. I was shocked when my son looked it up and told me it was done in 1963 and Dick was 38 at the time. He's now 98 and last time I saw him on TV was around 1 year ago and he still has rubber legs (dancing capabilities). My son also showed me a photo of Dick taken in 23, he looked amazing for his age.
I had a miserable life as a kid, I ran away when I was 11 and never went home again, I was always after anything that could make me laugh because in childhood I had little reason to smile or laugh, ever.
I was also a prolific reader to escape my reality. I could get absorbed into the stories. Sadly migraines and far from great eyesight means I haven't read regularly for many years. It used to be a novel per night growing up.
