Old movies

I have occasionally expressed my correct opinion that all fiction should be banned and all movies telling only true stories permitted...so it is/ was curious that I found myself watching old movies ( yes fiction)..crime etc from 1930 thru to say 1950..I particularly get excited if made in the year of my birth and know all these folk are now dead..I am not happy about them being dead but I guess experiencing the realisation produces some feeling I can't explain.

But how good are these movies? So often the quality is superb...and the music..not its style but I imagine the calibre of the musicians...clearly top of their game.

So in the interests of polite conversation does anyone here enjoy old movies and perhaps prepared to share which ones they enjoy.
