I know what you mean about the skies at Coonabarabran, I was at the Warrumbungles on a geological field trip about 25 years ago and I can still remember how crisp and clear the skies were. It really left an impression on me and I,m glad nothing has changed by the sounds of it.

Ah those skies really get you don't they Ric ? I was first out there on a school excursion 33 years ago and had my first look at saturns rings ,man that was It I was hooked ! I pestered my parents for the next two months and they finally gave up and bought me a 3" refractor ....I was in heaven.
