While we are on this thread I have used
Oatley Electronics for stepper motor controllers. They have a simple kit that can control 6 wire motors that are commonly scrounged from printers without the need for a PC. Very handy for simple tracking with equatorial platforms, etc.
I also have no affilation with this company, I have just used their services.
