Update
It seems I made a spelling mistake as well Its OPTOLYTH
It appears to be about 43 mm outside diameter and I believe the thread is M37 x 0.75 pitch.
It came from a deceased estate and the owner was a research astrophysicist who studied supernovas.
Apparently he donated over $30k of gear to the Uni.
Anyway this was part of what was left.
If anyone is interested I can provide decent pics, but no more info than what Mr Google can provide sorry.
