I recently acquired a Powermate 5 times at an amazing price in new condition and was extremely excited to try and capture Jupiter through my little 8 inch Newtonian and actually get something bigger than the regular grain of sand in my images. By the time the weather clears Jupiter probably won't even exist any more.....
I frequently tell my son I should sell everything astronomy related and buy an old motorbike. I can use it when it's cloudy or/and wet and have no problem doing exactly that. I've done trips from Sydney to Melbourne and Brisbane in near enough to non stop rain in years past. It never worried me, I dressed according to the weather and rode in the same manner, according to the conditions.
I really miss motorbikes!
