PS: Just a suggestion , if you intend imaging with the 60D for a while , BYEOS is excellent imaging software specifically for Canon DSLR’s and supports your camera. I started off with an intervalometer with my 600D for 5 months, bought BYEOS and never looked back. Has comprehensive features like frame, focus , capture plans including calibration frames, guiding dithering , an Unbelievable Live View for focusing , planetary mode for lunar and planet imaging and much much more , oh and is a snack to use.
Cost $35 US
Cable required from laptop to 60D ( USB2 type A to type B Mini Male 5m length)

I also bought a Canon power pack that connects to an extension cord via a LV power supply ( no more charging batteries)

Thank you Martin for your encouragement. It's good to get positive feedback.
I am likely to stick with the DLSRs for the moment. I do have the BYEOS downloaded and I do use it. However, I have been having issues with it freezing and closing mid-session and that is why I used the intervalometer. It was just simpler.
Hoping Santa Claus comes with either a new 200mm Newtonian or a ZWO ASI533 with the AISair.
