As for Niagara falls, I believe the mob learned concreting the feet within the barrel made it much safer (for someone)?



Then there were the group of people who tried to go to the wreck of the Titanic, again, sheer madness.
It's an interesting read relating to the cycling of carbon fibre going into compression and decompression, apparently the US navy have done research on the material before the Titan tragedy. Carbon fibre eventually de-laminates and there appeared to be no official safety checks in place other than "we have your money, we're going down".
And the story about instant death has been revised stating everyone in the Titan knew what was going to happen for a while before they were tragically crushed as they desperately tried to surface in the sub.
