When we lived on a 200 acre farm with great dark skies, there were many delights. Foremost among them was the birdlife. My wife and I kept a track of our sightings and by the time we sold up and left, we had reached 34 species. Some were out of season wanderers and some we only ever saw once but each one was a gift we treasured.
