Here is probably the first image that you can definitely see Mercury. Taken at 18:27, 1/13 th sec f3.8. I got a shot about 5 minutes earlier that you can use averted imagination to see Mercury.
I have an animation taken later that night that shows how quickly the Earth turns. Jus need to make it small enough and still be able to see the planets.
