Hi.
Out of the box is does not come with a USB connector. I made a simple USB adapter (that is the box with the twisted pair cable). You can use that or you can get another serial to USB adapter.
I connected it to my laptop and controlled is via Stellerium.
For power it originally came with a car power adapter. They suck. I changed that over to a dedicated 12V power supply. I'm keeping the power supply but I can re-attach a car power adapter if you like or leave it as is so you can hook up your own power solution.
