A quick NGC1365 and Friends

... while the Evolux 82ED is on the mount, thought I'd try this patch of sky that stars (pun intended) NGC1365 - the Great Barred Spiral Galaxy. NGC1365 is about 56Mly away and about 2 x the size of our Milky Way. There are 20+ galaxies in this image ranging from quite explicit (NGC1365) to subtle smudges - my mind boggles and then goes 'tilt' when thinking about the incredible scales of space and time that are inherent in the image. I reckon I'll return to this patch of sky when my ASI294MM is (soon) set up on the Evolux - the 294MM's Bin1 (2.3um pixels) is perfect for the short focal length albeit it produces 47MB files per image! Might use Bin1 only for luminance, and Bin2 for RGB and then rescale the RGB images ... might be a fail but worth having a crack :-)

Details for this image: 3hrs of 180s subs, ASI533MC, Antlia RGB Ultra filter. Thanks for looking. Alex
