Sun images from Melbourne 3 August 2023

This morning the jet stream was 68m/s and the wind was 30km/hr making for some challenges. The good news was that the SSM was reading low for low level turbulence so on balance the conditions were around average. We did try some close up 540nm images but again the seeing just didn't support that much aperture. In the end we have got some close up Ha and full disk mosaics in 393nm and Ha. It does appear that the worst of this winter is subsiding. The disk was particularly interesting to look at with a great deal of activity including many filaments. We captured a new region in the SE that will presumably be numbered AR3394 (it was un-numbered this morning).
