Despite the less than ideal seeing conditions for imaging ie. while a good handful of subs earlier in the night were under 2.0" FWHM, most subs were in the 2.0"-2.5" range with a few near the end, as the target sunk in the West, fuzzing out to just under 3"

(hey, I have become fussy now

) it was a great all-nighter of deep sky observing with mates until dawn...so much fun, cold sure...but fun fun fun

was able to nab a (all be it right at the limit) Mag 16.6 galaxy, so conditions weren't aaall bad, would probably have been easier with good seeing...eg. couldn't convince ourselves of being able to see the central star in the Ring Nebula

...though it was obviously pretty low in the North and transited through the glow of Canberra...
Then after the drive down the mountain, around lunchtime today, feeling nicely contented with the fabulous all-night observing fest, a breakfast/brunch of champions was in order on the way home, nom, nom, nom
