Tadpoles. A work in progress.
This is the Southern Tadpole Nebula (Gum 37), as apposed to the Northern Tadpole Nebula, which of course is known as "The" Tadpole Nebula because our world is so northern hemisphere centric. It's a work in progress. This image is approximately 4 hours of exposures from last night, but with several more hours I'm hoping to bring out more detail in the lower part of the image. I'm pleased with what I have so far although with cold fronts coming through, I don't think I'll be able to add to it before the next new moon, so thought I'd post what I have so far. I imaged this instead of chasing the Aurora Australis which has been visible from close to home. Maybe I should have chased the Aurora...?
