So I found more information on Device Hub -> Dome simulator behaviour. It totally does forget all the geometry parameters if you try and set it up from any Astronomy program calling the settings - an ASCOM developer also confirmed this behaviour. A work around it you can pin the ASCOM Device hub to your task bar and call it direct from Windows when no Astronomy programs are running. When you change the Geometry setting in there by Selecting Dome -> Tools tab -> Set up - you can enter the five required Geometry parameters and then they stay!
My latest Wierd behaviour noted is that all of SGP, N.I.N.A. APT and TSX play nice with Device hub - but MaximDL v5.24 sure doesn't under Windows 10! When you throw this into the mix it doesn't connect to the telescope correctly (selecting via the ASCOM.X2 scope driver for the SkyX) in that it says it connects - but it doesn't return any RA or DEC. The Same with the dome under Device Hub - connect to that in MaximDL and you don't get any bearing of the dome slit returned. If you disconnect the scope and/or dome then it won't let you try and reconnect them - it gives and error message with a Null text description.
Switch back to POTH for the Dome and then everything works again - its rather wierd! I am waitng to see what the ASCOM developers make of that behaviour.
