Maybe take a look at ASTAP - free & available for the Mac.
I'm using it for most of my stacking now, but it also has a number of other useful functions such as plate solving (compatible with a number of imaging programs), deep sky and star annotation, pixel math & CCD inspector for things like measuring camera tilt. Once you work out the mosaic stacking it seems to go quite well on the few chances I've had to try it (damn weather). Just another option to consider.
