It used to be anyone with an account could edit anything and I had arguments with several members on a forum years ago when Wiki was very young who were showing equations for electronics and had them all wrong, equations they got from Wiki.
I spent years studying electronics and still have several thousand dollars worth of text books here (new value not now value, what's a book?) and these people would go off stating I was taught incorrectly by those who wrote the books incorrectly without any kno0wledge and Wiki was the knowledge God.
Thankfully it seems a lot more reliable now and I even donate whenever I get an email.
I don't use it a lot but the idea is a good one.
