I had a package that was lost in the mail ... no tracking updates and presumed lost. Turned up 9 months later after AusPost paid out minimal compensation. I then contacted AusPost to arrange to return the compensation money since the package was finally received. They said returning the payment was not necessary and to keep it for the inconvenience experience from the saga. So don't give up all hope.
