I wasn't planning on imaging, so I don't need heaps of back focus, but unless I use eyepieces other than Plossls I don't think its enough space anyway.
I would like to get better eyepieces in the future (my notable eyepieces are a 7mm Luminos, an old 2inch 32mm Meade UWA 70˚, and a vixen lv 8-24 zoom, other than that its mostly plossls and an Astromania 16mm UWA 80˚), but at the moment I need enough space for an eyepiece with its field lens 30-50mm up the eyepiece.
I have been using the Newt program but I was wondering if there was any other options other than a larger diagonal.
Also how much back focus from the tube would you recommend?
