Finally a run of clear nights! After pulling a couple of all nighters I've finally got some data I can process. Carina is high in the southern sky and a popular target. I wanted to try something different so thought I'd explore the dark bits instead of the bright bits. This is a detailed view of the northern dust lane in the Carina Nebula (north is bottom of image) with a Sidereal 10" f/5 Newtonian and an ASI2600MM with Antlia 3nm filters, taken from a suburban Canberra backyard. Not quite as good conditions as at a certain very nice high altitude observatory several kilometres to the south.
