Due to my inability to resist a bargain, look what I just got. Poor photo but you get the idea.
(for the bandwidth challenged: it's a 5x powermate.) The only EP I have that it might be remotely useful with is the 25mm GSO Plossl. And even then only in good seeing.
I did not let that stop me giving it a go on Jupiter with the 25mm, 15mm Antares and 13mm Plossl. I got a good look at the boiling atmosphere between Jupiter and me.
I straight away got what people mean about the Powermate being unlike a barlow in that it feels as if there were "nothing there" between EP and scope. Anyway, this is clearly a barlow for hi-pow imaging. I guess I'll need to will get me a ToUcam or something similar...
