Spirograph Nebula IC 418

Finally clear sky last night. Had a crack at this tiny thing. I can't believe how bright it is, incredible surface brightness. Initially I had trouble finding it even though the Argo Navis on the 1986 vintage Sampson mount put it almost dead centre. I mistook it for a bright star till I realised the star patterns were right and it was near centre of image field.

So very short low ISO exposures. 6 x 30 secs ISO 200. EOS Ra. 10 inch F5.6 Newtonian. Crop from larger FOV and upscaled. Seeing was unusually good for Newcastle.
