I did also ( around 1974 )....4hr ride on a Huey , from the old Airport at Rockhampton, back to 9 Squadron Heli Pad at Amberley Air Base.
Flew a low height and followed the coast line and a bit of IFR ( I follow Railway Lines
)...I was glad to get out of it after 4 hrs....thud...thud....thud...thud for 4 hrs was enough for me.....
