Smile Custom steel telescope piers

I've made a few steel piers for members here, and would like to offer a few more. Ideally for Melbourne/Victoria members so I can deliver it myself and perhaps pick up any required mounting components to make an exact fit. But interstate can be worked out.

Price range, $450-$1300 from basic pier (with 73mm carbon steel body) to a hefty maximum spec'd pier with 270mm stainless steel body and hardware.

I'm an astrophysicist by profession; metalwork is just a hobby and I work out of my small garage. So I don't own a lot of equipment (e.g. no lathe). I may be slow (e.g. 2 weeks to build), but costs are dominated by materials and tools required, instead of my time. I use stainless steel for the welds, and paint with the best etch primer and rust-proof top coats.

I have attached some photos of my past piers. All included custom top plates to fit to existing telescope hardware, and one included an eyepiece holder made from a bicycle chain and gear sprockets.
