The comment about China was cut short by my old brain, I meant to say that China ( and the US of A ) have a Free Trade Agreement with Australia, in theory, there is no duty put on goods originating in those countries, so the $317.00 would / should have been GST on the purchase and GST on the freight, yep, freight is also taxable for GST.
I think with a Hyperstar it would be wishful thinking even before gerry stuck his gob in and the cost would be in the Au$2500.00 range.
