Jupiter - Io and Europa 17 December

Our planetary efforts from last night only amounted to a couple of images of Jupiter. One of Jupiter and Io prior to the GRS rotating into view. The second is just after Europa appeared from behind Jupiter's shadow and the GRS is visible. The plan had been to do an animation of Europa's appearance and the start of the GRS's travels. Unfortunately the seeing on paper looked to be good but the reality was far from it. We took the videos but the results have gone to binary heaven. The wind was buffeting the scope so we changed to our 72ED and viewed the Flame & Horsehead nebulas instead. At least the poor planetary season seems to have a long tail
