The workflow is actually a little more complicated and takes longer than AS!3 and Registax. However, once you have a workflow established you can write a script to automate it. It's just that we use Siril for DSO processing and it has a lot of extra features and capability that the other packages don't. In fact, we have seen Siril used for DSO, solar, lunar and planetary processing so it is quite versatile.
Pixel maths is where you can write mathematical functions that are applied a pixel at a time for a whole image like adding 2 images together. In addition to this, the functions can be conditional, like if the pixel value is above or below a certain value do one thing, else do something a different thing. It can be very powerful.
