Meteor broke into two!
Friday evening at about 10.45pm a group of us Ian(photon) and Simon(?) and myself were packing up after our first observational night with and Adult Ed Class we are running in Launceston and a magnificent fireball streaked accross the sky from West to East and broke up into two visible fragments before it burnt out.
Usually you blink and they are gone but once spotted the others had time to turn and see as well. It was a pity the class had all gone home.
We have two more obs nights for the class in the next two weeks so we might be lucky and see some more.
anyway at least the warmer weather has brought us out of hibernation
bye for now
