When I fitted my new Skywatcher GTi mount to my Meade Field tripod it soon became obvious that the mount was just a trifle small for the tripod! I couldn't even fit the counterweight. So I made a riser from a piece of pipe 120mm high x 90mm diam, steel pieces welded inside the ends and a captive bolt for the mount end. Rather than paint it I thought I'd have a go at powder coating it. Not perfect, but not too bad for my first effort.
In hindsight I should have made it a bit longer, but it is what it is.
