Continuing the frustrating planetary season 17 October 2022

After having an unexpectedly good night on Sunday, Monday night was actually forecast to be clear. Two clear nights in a row seemed too good to be true. Well, it was clear again on Monday night, but there the similarity with the previous evening ended. The seeing was not good. We imaged Saturn and Jupiter anyway and tried a Red+IR filter to try and cut through the atmosphere a bit which was only semi successful.

Here is what we captured using 6" SCT, ASI178MC, 2x barlow and ZWO ADC for colour images. For the 610nm R+IR we used ASI178MM and 1.8x barlow.
