In answer to your question about recent and future Total Solar Eclipses. So far this century we have had 2, 2002 and 2012 , with another due next year and 2028, 2030, 2037 and 2038.

Hope the links work. The NASA website had good interactive maps of all the eclipses but currently is not working with Google Maps. I did witness the 2002 Ceduna eclipse and will never forget the experience, though brief at 30 seconds of totality. Am really looking forward to the 22/7/2028 eclipse, wont even have to leave home to see it, clouds permitting, though moving closer to the centreline will provide a longer period of totality.
Next years Total / Hybrid eclipse is on the other side of the country for me, 4000 km away and more effort to get to than I would be prepared to expend.
