White light Sun images from Melbourne 31 August 2022
We took some white light images this morning. Today's sun is a quiet affair dominated by AR3089. The only other region at the moment is AR3086 which pales in comparison. The full disk image is taken with a 72ED and ASI178MM camera with a 540nm filter. The close up of AR3089 is taken using a new Baader film white light filter which we have just finished making for our 6" SCT. This filter is vastly superior to the Celestron film filter we have been using.
