Thanks for posting the link. I was going to do that but I was using my iPad and the message Microsoft gave me was that Windows 10 was not compatible with my device, (der!). Not sure if I had a proper link then.
Yes a clean install must be done from a bootable USB drive. An upgrade must be done from within Windows.
