Another thing to consider regarding eq mounts is that with Losmandy mounts you can start off with a smaller one and add on to it later with RA parts for higher loads.
Another post capture free program is SIRIL and its very fast and easy.
I use an ethernet cable and TightVNC so I can sit inside and monitor the rig and laptop. That avoids the mosi and smoke from firepits locally.
