I have used standard automotive zinc anti-seize paste, which comes in a stick. There was another thread that dealt with binding extensions just recently, Search will find it for you.
I have used off tape to remove seized extension sections, wrap them in different directions on each of the extensions and simply twist, works every time.

I will add that the use of anti-seize paste, or graphite, can result in tiny specs collection optics. Maje sure you always use a puffer bulb to blow the optics clean.
