Researching your family tree
My ancestry, like probably quite a few, is European. My Father and his family coming from England, quite a few living relatives .. on my Mothers side it is virtually blank. All I know is that she was born in Dorpat Estonia and there is a linkage to the Netherlands on her fathers side. With just basic names and no known living relatives it is difficult to construct a family tree on my Mothers side of the family.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and had some success in filling in gaps in lineage? Have you been able to get birth records from abroad?
