The problem is now solved with the help from a genius at another Astro website.

The desktop Icon on my screen was a 32 bit version.
I deleted it.

I dragged the Photoshop.exe file to the desktop.

I made the 64 bit version an icon and now HLVG is working - yippee.
So Photoshop.exe is now a screen icon.

It cost me about 2 days of work and that's all it was.

I thought there was something wrong last night when Photoshop was only
using the memory of a 32 bit computer - 3 Gigabytes when
I had 32 Gigabytes of memory.

The old icon properties said
Target "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1\Photoshop.exe"
Start in"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1"

The new icon says
Target "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe"
Start in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)"

It's so simple once you know - like all faults.

Photoshop CS5.1 had installed only the 32 bit Icon so
that's what I was clicking on.

cheers
Allan
