I don't see an issue with the used market at all. Selling things here recently has been smooth sailing for me and I think buyers have been happy.
Maybe we're asking too much for our second hand gear. We buy a scope, use it for possibly hundreds of hours and then complain about losing $1000 on what we paid? Pro-rate your loss into dollars per hour of enjoyment and compare that to just about any other activity that you enjoy doing.
also, people need to be aware of the new gear market... comparing asking price to Bintel or other locals is folly, especially for high end stuff
