Good on you Alex, keep going!
Thanks Markus ..the health issues are the very reason I am getting things done.. they are an advantage because I realise putting off that big purchase will not work..you gotta go for it ..and you see I am very lucky because I realise that my life is finite ..everyone says they know they will die someday but its so far off they dont think about it..ever... I see two things one must appreciate is real and that one must plan everything around...there is death and it is pretty easy to get a ruff idea as to how many years you have left ..but who does that?..I do..not morbid but to enable me not to feel guilty buying this or that for a start and not putting off things ...
The other thing to work into ones planning is that death is not your greatest enemy..it is loss of health and even more the loss of motivation..as you get older you just do not do stuff ... So even if I were to live to 100 I would be saying to myself things like..you gotta do that single handed sail round the world thing by 80 or you just wont want to do it...I should have left by now but I lost motivation for that about seven years ago..and up till then that was what all my plans led to..now not interested...but I sortta did it in so far I had the boat and getting ready, so I can tick off to own an old wood boat.
And you have to push yourself..I now wake up at 4 am to fit in more living...
And never worry about what others think or advise ..all advice is for them is what they would do for themselves..never you...work out what you want and get it...
Alex
