Hmmmmm.... Never say never I say

I suspect you may be thinking of stainless steel, which yes and no is "not magnetic", or better said as "not that magnetic" but even it, depending on its grade, impurities and how it has been processed even how it's used/work hardened, can be/is attracted to a magnet especially the stronger Neodymium types.

I've noticed some high grade 316 types or 18/10 tend to be better at not being attracted to magnets, but not always ....

Anyway Alex ... I can't help with an opinion on the lady you spoke to, but atleast I gave you a reason to go and play around in your kitchen drawers with a magnet or 2.
