"Oh that's new" comment, then given that the area is rarely visited, there's always good old plausible denial .... "Oh that old thing, I've had it for ages

OK, ours is a very much a work in progress as an upstairs
pool room and is a mixture of kid's toys, gear and building materials at the moment. I'll see if I can find a pic, but in the meantime here is a video which shows going up the stairs in to the one day Attic Observatory-to-be which is adjacent to the poolroom/hometheater/whatever area, etc...... just turn right at the top of the long stairs instead of going up in to the attic.....
