Hi Brian, welcome to IIS.

How high in degrees (roughly) was the object when you first noticed it?

How long did it take the object to disappear over the horizon after its maneuvres, relative to the time it took to cross 3/4 of the sky.

How low/distant was your horizon at the time, over which the object disappeared quickly?

How did you establish that the object was flying high and fast as opposed to low and slow? The former would not be consistent with something like a drone whereas the latter might be.
