Saturn 2010 GWS AV Sept 21st 2021

Imaged Saturn Sept 21st targeting the 2010 GWS AV, had good seeing covering 63 minutes of Saturn rotation. Am extremely pleased to have well resolved the AV which I measure to be at approx Lat+41.6 L3 307.1. This AV has become quite a challenge to resolve as the apparition has progressed, it is drifting south and that has resulted in a significant reduction to its Westerly drift rate.
A mid latitude bright spot is resolved at approx Lat+29.4 L3 278.8.
A quite intriguing phenomenon that I have not previously seen at Saturn is seen on the EZ / NEB border. A very prominent short wavelength high amplitude ripple / wave is resolved impinging well up into the NEB which is demonstrably influencing material within the NEB. The NEB has a very thin white band of cloud running along the centre of it which is being deflected up and over the peak of the ripple / wave.
The ripple is at approx Lat+14.7 L1 282.8 and the effect it is having on the cloud band in the NEB is well seen in the 685nm IR animations and also the EQ maps and 150% insets included with each 685nm IR data set. Have quite a significant volume of data from this session; all has been uploaded to PVOL.

Cheers
Trevor
