We seem to go round in circles, more evidence of severe climate change, more denial from politicians and big business. There is increasing evidence that smoke from plantation burnoff is causing the increasingly dry weather we've experienced and it's being subsidised by taxpayer dollars to the tune of $4600 per hectare. I see the Business Council are proposing that private enterprise could do a better job of managing water and that we pay too little for it. Given that big business is mostly responsble for climate change either directly (by polluting) or indirectly (by supplying products and actively suppressing change e.g. the oil industry and motor industry) it's a bit rich when the perpetrators of the problem are now wanting to profit from the outcomes.

Do us all a favour and write to your local members and more importantly support parties that have the environment as their first priority. Only when they fear losing their places in government will they start to act.
